45! President Trump Spends Election Day with Clay & Buck

BUCK: As promised, because we always keep our promises, we’ve got number 45 with us right now. President Donald Trump joins on Election Day this Tuesday, November 8, 2022, to weigh in. Mr. President, honored to have you, sir.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Well, thank you. It’s a big day. It’s a big day for you guys. It’s what people have been talking about for a long time. So, let’s hope it all works out well.

BUCK: We wanted your 30,000-foot view, Mr. President, of what’s going on right now. What you expect is going to be… In the final analysis of why the outcome is what it is today, what are the top things that come to mind for you? What’s happening in this country right now?

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Well, I think it’s crime. I think it’s inflation. I think it’s the economy, which is a big, big part of inflation, I guess, if you think. But it’s really crime. It’s the border where millions and millions of people are pouring into our country totally unchecked, that nobody knows what’s happening. And we’re going to be paying a price for that for a long time. It’s a lot of things like that. I think it’s even the Afghanistan… I think it was the worst moment in the history of our country. I think we were never so embarrassed by a thing as that.

The way that happened and the way it took place, so horrible. We could have gotten out with strength. We were ready to get out with strength and dignity. And the way they got out, taking the soldiers out first. So there are a lot of things that come into play. But, you know, I think you could actually say there’s nothing good. If you look at what could you say positive, there’s nothing good that’s happened in the last two years. We were energy independent and now we’re paying record prices for gas and for electric and everything else. So, it’s a tough situation for our country.

CLAY: Mr. President, Clay, here.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Hi, Clay.

CLAY: Last time we saw you at Bedminster, that was a phenomenal event.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: (chuckles) Yeah.

CLAY: And I know you had an event down at Doral that went really well also. So, congratulations on those.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Thank you.

CLAY: But I actually spoke last night at Herschel Walker’s final rally in Georgia

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Good.

CLAY: — and I got to watch him and the way the crowd reacted to him.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Great.

CLAY: And I got to ask you a question on this. So you saw Herschel when a lot of people were not talking about him at all —

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Right.

CLAY: — and said, “This guy should become a senator from Georgia” and I got several for you.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Right.

CLAY: Last night, I know you were with JD Vance.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Right.

CLAY: He’s going to win probably a landslide based on the polls that I know you’re seeing and I’m seeing.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Yup.

CLAY: I think Blake Masters is going to win in Arizona. He’s your guy.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Yeah.

CLAY: Dr. Oz, I think is going to win today in Pennsylvania.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Yep.

CLAY: Ted Budd is going to win comfortably in North Carolina. I think Don Bolduc’s going to win in New Hampshire.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Right.

CLAY: I think these are all your Senate guys.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Right.

CLAY: You have a pretty incredible record now of assessing talent almost from a sports perspective and being able to say, “Hey, this guy or this girl has the ability to win and win at a high level.” What do you attribute your eye for talent to? You’re like the best, you know, the draft or at the NFL Draft right now. How…? What makes you recognize talent in these politicians and be so successful at saying, “Hey, this is the guy or this is the girl”?

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Well, then you had the old crow come out and say, “Oh, we don’t have good candidates” awhile ago. That’s Mitch McConnell (chuckles), who’s the worst thing we have in the Republican Party. Absolutely the worst. And he wouldn’t have been able to replace him. You know, like he complained about Herschel and who was he eager to put up? And now you look at Herschel and I mean, Herschel was… Oh, man! He got out there; he fought.

And they went after him like few people — other than me, of course. I’d say they go after me. I think Herschel had a cakewalk compared to me, but Herschel did a great job and Herschel is… There’s something about him. The presence, right? When you saw him and you were with him yesterday? He’s got a presence. That’s great. He’s a great guy. I think Herschel is going to be really… You know, the big thing is, will he win or is there going to be a runoff, or I guess he could lose also.

CLAY: (crosstalk) But I think he’s going to win, Mr. President, outright; they spent $250 million on that Georgia Senate race.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Wow, $250 million. Wow.

CLAY: I think is the total tally now. And I think he’s going to win outright in Georgia tonight as long as a lot of the Georgians listening to us right now get out and vote for him.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Well, the only way he could do that is by being a super celebrity and a guy that people knew. You know, I had the same thing in Florida. They spent $301 million. Bloomberg added 100, but there were $301 million and I spent a tiny fraction. But the people knew me. I won it in a landslide. And the people, I was like 4% of that or something. And but the people knew me and, you know, like or not like, they voted for me. (chuckles) We won Florida in a landslide.

BUCK: You know, Mr. President —

PRESIDENT TRUMP: That’s why — they knew Herschel. They understood Herschel. And he was the greatest football player in the history of the state and won the Heisman Trophy, won the national titles. And I always said, when the people get in there, they get to vote… Now, if you put in a regular person and they spent 250 million on destroying. You know, like a Mitch McConnell would take some guy that nobody ever heard of; they wouldn’t have had a chance. So I think Herschel has a real big chance of winning and that would be an incredible achievement.

BUCK: You know, Mr. President, one of your other backed candidates is Kelly Tshibaka up in Alaska —

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Right.

CLAY: — who Clay and I have had on a bunch of times. Really impressive. You know, she’s really impressive. Tiffany Smiley up in Washington, really impressive.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Right.

CLAY: But Tshibaka has got your backing. Mitch McConnell, you talked about Mitch a couple of times. He’s spending millions of dollars to make sure that Tshibaka doesn’t win so we could have RINO Murkowski in?

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Right.

CLAY: What is he doing? I mean, you know Mitch. You know the politics here.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Yeah.

CLAY: How could anybody think…? Given how close some of these races are going to be in places like Arizona, maybe Pennsylvania, why is Mitch spending millions of dollars so that Tshibaka doesn’t win? Who’s a much better candidate?

PRESIDENT TRUMP: I think he’s a bad guy. I wish I didn’t endorse him. He was losing, and he came over and begged for my endorsement. I gave it to him, and he picked up 21 points. He never won by that in his life before. He was a one percenter because he has no personality. What he did in Alaska is not an acceptable… So he has a great Republican in Kelly Tshibaka. He is a horrible RINO, but I think she’s worse than a RINO. You know, she voted against Kavanaugh —

BUCK: Oh, yeah.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: — but voted against the latest woman who is, you know, not exactly Republican standard. Okay? A little bit it’s a little bit off in terms of policy, etc., etc. But he voted for her. Voted for Lisa Murkowski, is a disaster. So he spends now… I hear the real number is 11 million or so on, beating a good Republican. And if that money went, just a piece of that money went to Blake Masters and Bolduc and, you know, some of these other people, it would guarantee a victory! It would guarantee it. But he’s spending 11 million because… You know, it’s not like he gets along with Murkowski.

I’ve been there with him. She can’t stand him, and she doesn’t even vote with him. You know, she voted against what his desire was a lot. He’s got one ability and he raises money, which anybody can do from that position, and then he hands it out to senators and they feel obligated. I even told some of them that called me up, I said, “Take it, you know, just take it.” But he has that $20 million each and more. So they’re sort of in a bad position, I guess. But he’s not good for the Republican Party. I hope that Kelly wins. Kelly is fantastic.

BUCK: She’s amazing.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: They have that crazy voting system out there that makes it difficult —

BUCK: Oh, yeah. Yeah.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: — that makes it difficult (garbled)

BUCK: (crosstalk) It’s the Murkowski protection system, basically.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Yeah.

BUCK: Right. They set this up so that the people’s voices wouldn’t be heard the way they should in a straightforward election.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Yup.

BUCK: How many Senate seats you think we’re going to have, President Trump, after today?

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Well, if you would have said that 90 days ago, we all would have said 49, right? And now I’m starting to think maybe we have 51, 52. I can’t imagine more than that. But, you know, they’ve spent billions of dollars, these people. I mean, it’s incredible. They get money to have open borders? Whose paying? Maybe the cartels are paying. I don’t know. They’re the biggest beneficiaries, but who would pay money for the policy of high taxes and open borders and all of these things that they stand for and represent? But I would say, I really… Actually I’d be happy with 51, but 51 or 52 is a real possibility, which 90 days ago, all of us would have said — the three of us would have said — no chance, right?

CLAY: Yep. President Trump, you made an announcement at your Ohio rally last night that you’re going to have a Mar-a-Lago announcement one week from today.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Right.

CLAY: What can you tell us about the time, the events surrounding it? I know a lot of our listeners are eager for you to be back officially in the political fray. Do you think they’re going to be happy? What can you tell us?

PRESIDENT TRUMP: I think they’re going to be very happy. I hope you’re going to be there. It’s a lot of pressure (audio drops). We got to bring our country back. I think you two guys would be very happy. There might be some fake news media that won’t be so thrilled, but actually (audio drop), as their ratings have gone down with (audio drop).

BUCK: Oh, President Trump, CNN misses you dramatically. CNN, you know… (chuckles) They still they act like you’re running for the race today.

CLAY: We may need to get a better connection — with President Trump there. In fact, do you want to go to a break here?

BUCK: Let’s take a quick moment and see if we can get him back on the on the flip side. We’ll do that. We’re speaking to 45th president, President Donald Trump.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

CLAY: It was a helluva tease, Mr. President. You started to answer about Mar-a-Lago next week, and I don’t know if Mitch McConnell got in and started to hack your phone or maybe somebody got nervous. Maybe it was the FBI. Who knows.

BUCK: Cocaine Mitch has quite a temper.

CLAY: (laughing) But —

PRESIDENT TRUMP: It could have been either, yeah. (chuckles)

CLAY: It could have been either. You announced last night at the rally in Ohio that you’re going to have a big announcement to make at Mar-a-Lago. I wanted to let you answer. What should people expect? What time of day, what is that event going to be like so far as you’ve determined the details?

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Well, I think it’s going to be a great event. I was thinking about doing it last night, and as I was going to the rally — we had a tremendous rally, close to 50,000 people and in Ohio and it was great. And JD, he’s going to be a wonderful senator. He’s going to get in and he’s going to do a terrific job. But that was a great show of support, and likewise for Marco Rubio the day before in Miami with the rain. I don’t know if you saw that.

CLAY: Oh, yeah, it was great.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: It was so beautiful. And then they just had this thunderstorm, and it was like they dropped a bucket of water on my head and we just kept going. We wouldn’t stop. We wouldn’t stop for anything. And it was it was really… (laughing) People said it was like a religious experience, and the crowd was fantastic. So, we’ve had some good times. Frankly, we have to bring our country back. I think it’s going to be very exciting at Mar-a-Lago. I’m going to make my statement on running, and I think you guys pretty much know what I’m going to be doing, but we have to make it official. So, I’m going to be making a statement. I’m going to be making a statement on Tuesday. It’ll be Tuesday the 15th, and I hope you’ll be there, both of you.

BUCK: And, Mr. President, you know, I have it on good authority that the Trump Train will not stop until victory. So, this is what we’ve been told. So, I’m just saying, people are telling me out there that no retreat, no surrender until the country is fixed. And you’re very focused on that issue. How do we get there, though? Let’s just look a little bit ahead, because it looks like today is going to be a good day. Clay was pulling some of the numbers. How do we get to the point where… I used to tell my radio audience, sir, when you were president in 2019 before Clay and I teamed up, “Enjoy this, because this is about as good as it’s going to get.” (laughing) How do we get there?

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Yeah. We had it going the greatest in the history of our country, the greatest in the world. We had things going, and I was telling somebody, you know, they were saying, “How do you bring the country together”? And the word is “success.” And we had that just prior to covid or to the China virus coming in. We had a country we were doubling up on China. We were… You know, they were going to overtake us. For years. it was projected that by 2018, 2019, China would become the biggest economy. You heard that many times. It was like automatic. And we were doubling them up.

We were beating them so badly and the tariffs, we were getting hundreds of billions of dollars of money coming in. No president ever charged them ten cents, and they were ripping us off left and right. And then we had covid, and then we did it again. The stock market was actually higher and then we had an election. I won’t get into it. But you know what happened? And a lot of people… You see what happened in Pennsylvania the other day, the Supreme Court ruled that I was right. But we’re not going to go back. We can only go forward. You’re not allowed to do what they did.

They cheated like dogs. So, we had a terrible result, and it was a terrible result for the country. But success is the thing that’s going to do it. Now, what would you do? Because your next question is, “What would you do?” We have to close up our border. We got to get some of the people out that came in, a lot of them, because a lot of them, you know, they’re emptying their prisons. From over 100 countries, they’re emptying their prisons into the United States. And these are tough people, and we have terrorists coming in.

We have millions of people, and I believe the real number is 10 million or more, not the three million and four million that you’ve been hearing. It’s 10 million or more. And we have the strongest border in history as far as you know this better than anybody. We had Tom Homan and Brandon Judd and we had all these great guys, but we had the strongest border in history, if you think about it, just a little while ago, two years ago. And now we have the weakest border, I believe the weakest border anywhere.

Because I don’t believe there’s a third world country that would allow what happened to us to happen to them, and I say, they’d use sticks and stones to stop that. They would use sticks and stones. So, it’s a very sad situation. We have to close up the border. We have to stop the crime. We have to get rid of inflation. We have to create energy — and when that’s all done, a lot of good things are going to happen.

CLAY: Mr. President, so, should we come down and do the show again from Mar-a-Lago on Tuesday for the announcement?

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Sure. Well, you guys have been great. Look, you’re really great. And I want to congratulate you so that your listeners here… You’ve done a fantastic job in getting involved with that whole Rush legacy; it’s not an easy thing to do because there’s nobody like him. He was amazing. But you guys have done a fantastic job, and really successful. It’s nice to have your listeners hear that from somebody that’s on the outside, but I see what happens, and you’ve done a fantastic job. Congratulations. And, absolutely, I’d love to have you down.

BUCK: Thank you so much, Mr. President. Just one more thing. You’ve got people listening to you all across the country, all 50 states right now. They’re either going to vote, coming back from voting, or perhaps even in line or on the way, you know, right now or in process of voting. What is your message to the people, especially to anybody out there who’s feeling like, “Ugh, look what they did in 2020! Ugh, does it…? Can I really make a difference?” You made a difference. What do you want to say to all of them?

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Well, you got to go out — 2020 was a rigged election, but you got to go out and you got to vote. And, you know, either party. Now, I’d like to say, “Only vote if you’re Republican; if you’re on the other side, do not vote.” But I have to be a little more politically correct. So, I say, “Go vote!” You got to vote. Regardless, you have to vote. But I think we’re going to have a very interesting evening tonight. It could be bigger than we think, and it could be a disappointment to us. You know, it’s politics and it’s hard to —

BUCK: (crosstalking) Is Lee Zeldin going to win? Mr. President, you’re a New Yorker. I’m a New Yorker. Is Lee Zeldin going to win?

PRESIDENT TRUMP: I think he has a very good chance. And this is something for people that don’t live in New York. It’s unthinkable because, frankly, the Democrats have won for 40 years. You know, it’s just automatic, and I think he’s got a really, really good chance. He’s fought hard. You know, I knew Lee. I’ve known him for a long time. When he ran for Congress, he was given no chance. He went into an area where it was not possible to win, and he was up against somebody that just was not possible to beat, and he actually asked me for my… This is before my political, but he asked me for my endorsement. I liked him, I gave it to him, and he won. He won! That was an impossible race. This is like the same thing. I think that is looking very good, you know, I mean, normally you would say, no.

BUCK: Me too.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: I think he has a real chance. I think he’s got a real chance. No, I think he does, really.

BUCK: I think he’s going to pull it out. I think Lee’s going to pull it out.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Yup.

CLAY: (crosstalk) Yes. Mr. President, we’ll come down. We’ll see you at Mar-a-Lago for the big announcement. Will try to get that set up; we’re excited about it. I know a huge portion of our listeners are super excited about it as well. And we appreciate it. We know it’s a busy day. We appreciate you giving us the time.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Well, very good, and keep up the good work, and I’ll see you on Tuesday. That’s great.

CLAY: Sounds great.

BUCK: Thank you, sir.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Thank you very much. Thank you.

BUCK: President Donald Trump, 45.
