What Did Clay and Buck Say About House of the Dragon?

13 Sep 2022

On this show, we’re Game of Thrones fans. We loved it.

The final season was deeply disappointing, but we gave the new one a try. It’s House of the Dragon, and it’s pretty good.

It hit the mark far, far better than the Lord of the Rings prequel. You remember the original, right?

Now it’s The Rings of Power. How can you spend so much money on something and have it suck so much?

J.R.R. Tolkien has enthralled Buck since the third grade.

Not suprisingly, he loved all that Dungeons & Dragons nerd stuff.

Oh, and there was a cartoon, too, as was the style at the time.

So taking such a rich and vibrant world of story and ruin it? Don’t waste your time. The Lord of the Rings that’s streaming on Amazon is trash.

Buck, by the way, has given up on nagging Clay to watch Peaky Blinders . It just makes him too sad.

The book Endurance, however, Clay picked up on Buck’s recommendation and it was fantastic.

By the way, season 5 of Cobra Kai is out now on Netflix.

For those of you out there who enjoyed the Karate Kid movies in the 1980s, your kids today are going to love it.

The ’80s showed how to make movies, and we’re seeing how you can still take great story, great characters and add to it. This was done really well in Top Gun: Maverick.

It was done really poorly in the all-female Ghostbusters.

No, it wasn’t sexism that made it flop. It was just terrible. It sucked.

The pitfalls are clear. For example, Black Panther 2 is gonna come out, and if you don’t say it’s the greatest movie ever, you’re gonna be racist, as you were with the first one.

It’s like when Buck didn’t care for Hamilton, and he just thought, “This isn’t good. People can yell at me all day about how much they love it. I don’t care.”

Speaking of classic shows, do you remember Quantum Leap?

Well, it’s getting a reboot.

Sadly, Gen Z and below have not known the greatness of that show or of MacGyver.

That could definitely be rebooted again, although they tried in 2016.

Murder, She Wrote, too. These are endless reboot opportunities.

And we’re still holding out hope for Hollywood to dramatize the Lewis and Clark expedition. It’d be a huge smash hit.
