Believe it or not, there was much more “laughably absurd” news, Clay said, on the left than Buck’s warning to Clay that if his kids happened to have a White House or Empire State Building model they made from Legos “to get rid of it because the FBI is protecting us from Legos!”
Buck’s tongue-and-cheek caution was in response to the FBI confiscating a Lego model of the U.S. Capitol from the home of one of the alleged chief conspirators of the actions of January 6th. Clay confirmed that his kids had, in fact, made models of the Empire State Building, White House, Washington Monument and the U.S. Capitol.
The guys then joshed that the Lego Star Wars Death Star that Clay’s kids also have built would be thought of by the FBI as, Buck said, “a weapon of mass destruction.”
Clay concluded of the January 6th-related Legos raid, “That is so embarrassing. Can you imagine being an FBI agent who made that choice?”
The reality, though, the pair stressed when it comes to the left and their proclamations about the events of January 6th is way beyond kids’ play and clearly, Buck lamented, “a train to Crazytown.”
Buck revealed that former Bush-Cheney chief strategist and former ABC News pundit Matthew Dowd ranted — and just the latest leftist to do it — that January 6th events were “worse than 9/11.”
“I don’t like to take personal shots,” Buck said. “But this guy is one of the biggest jerks in political commentary. Dowd. He wants to make the case that January 6th, Clay, was worse than 9/11. I cannot believe somebody would say this out loud.”
C&B let their audience listen in disbelief themselves.
“It’s much worse than it was on January 6th,” Dowd was heard saying in an MSNBC interview. “And part of the problem is, because there’s been no accountability, it’s given permission to do more of this. And not only does it give permission to just ambling people out there who might do crazy things, it’s allowed reps just to continue this big lie that they’ve pushed across. What would happen if after 9/11 we had done nothing? Think about that. And to me though there was less loss of life on January 6, January 6 was worse than 9/11 because it’s continued to rip our country apart and give permission for people to pursue autocratic means. And so I think we’re in a much worse place than we’ve been. And, as I’ve said, I think we’re in the most perilous point in time since 1861 and the advent of the Civil War.”
Buck felt forced to break his usual personal rule again and said, “Now, this guy’s a moron.”
Clay reinforced Buck’s need to speak out and added, “Oh, shut up. I mean this is the stupidest — I mean, look. I understand that there are a lot of dumb people who get paid money to go on television. This is the dumbest — this might be the dumbest argument that I have heard this year. That’s saying something, Buck, that we’re in the most perilous time since 1861? I mean, this is just blatantly not true, in addition to the fact 9/11 compared to January 6th?”
Then, beyond reinforcing Buck, Clay, in fact, reinforced himself: “That argument, the fact that you could make it with a straight face, that January 6th is worse than 9/11, even historically to make the argument, Buck, that we’re anywhere near where we were in the days of the Civil War or, frankly, World War II, or virtually any other conflict that we have been involved in as a country is laughably absurd.”
Buck, as usual, crafted a takeaway for all of us highlighting the much bigger, even more perilous, problem.
“You have to understand this country is living in two parallel realities right now about January 6th,” Buck explained. “There are some of us who say it was a mostly peaceful protest that did have a component of it that turned into a riot and people who broke the law. Should be held accountable for breaking the law. But they weren’t traitors engaging in insurrection. They broke property, assaulted police officers. Standard operating procedure, by the way, for the left for months and months in the summer of 2020 under the banner of BLM.”
