O’ROURKE: He talked about to do this was evil. The only thing evil is what he continues to do to the people of this state. He says this was unpredictable. It was totally predictable. And I predict this will continue to happen, when you continue to have a governor who will not stand up for the people of Texas. He came to my hometown of El Paso after 23 people were slaughtered and said he was gonna do something. He did nothing. In fact, the only thing he did was make it easier to buy a gun. The only thing he did was make it easier to carry a gun in public. And he bragged about the fact that there would be no background check, no training, no vetting whatsoever.
CLAY: That’s Beto, who still, to my knowledge, has not given any indication of what could have been done to keep this from happening.
Everybody’s screaming that there have to be laws changed and everything else. Again, until we know the facts in essence here, Buck, I haven’t heard anything about what would have changed that you could change to keep this from happening.
And I think that’s why we’re focused to start the show today on the facts and trying to figure out what they are of how this shooting came to be.
