C&B Chat with Kat Timpf of Sincerely, Kat

16 Dec 2021

BUCK: We have our friend Kat Timpf with us now from Fox News. You all know Kat from her Fox Nation show โ€” Sincerely, Kat โ€” and sheโ€™s also a frequent guest panelist on the Gutfeld smash hit late-night TV show over at Fox. Kat, great to have you.

TIMPF: Hey, great to be here.

BUCK: So are you noticing that there is both an increase โ€” โ€™cause youโ€™re here in New York City with me, Clayโ€™s out in Nashville so heโ€™s all, โ€œOh, I have the freedom and the Constitution,โ€ and Iโ€™m walking around here โ€”

TIMPF: I know.

BUCK: โ€” feeling as though Iโ€™m hearing, the Soviet national anthem playing from all the loudspeakers. But Iโ€™m starting to see people just be like, โ€œYou know what? Iโ€™m not.โ€ Iโ€™m walking into places that require masks and people just arenโ€™t wearing masks. Do you think that even New Yorkers are starting to have had enough of the madness?

TIMPF: You know what? I think everyoneโ€™s had enough of the madness. It just depends on whether or not they feel comfortable admitting that or if theyโ€™re worried about their social standing if their friends are liberal, because think about it. People are moving to Nashville, people are moving to Texas, people are moving to Florida. If people were really concerned that everyone whoโ€™s not wearing a mask is a murderer or whatever, people would be fleeing to New York and fleeing to Los Angeles because they would be so scared they were gonna die in Florida or Texas or Tennessee. Weโ€™re not really seeing that.

Clay and BuckBUCK: Youโ€™ve actually seen, Kat, a new study that thereโ€™s a 38% decrease โ€” year over year 2021 to 2020 โ€” of people moving to California.

TIMPF: Right. If everybody really believed in the stuff and it was as widespread and popular as people thought, then that wouldnโ€™t be the case. People would be too terrified to live in a place where people are normal and sane because theyโ€™d been so scared theyโ€™re gonna die. Iโ€™ve had it. Iโ€™ve really had it. I justโ€ฆ You think things will get better and they get worse. I still havenโ€™t gone on the honeymoon yet. โ€œOh, weโ€™re gonna go next week when things are open and go to a foreign country, and not worry,โ€ and now itโ€™s like weโ€™ll go to Poughkeepsie or something. You canโ€™t plan anything.

BUCK: No offense to our robust Poughkeepsie audience, by the way.

TIMPF: Not to offend you guys but I guess Iโ€™ll see you guys there.

CLAY: You watch her on Gutfeld pretty much every night. Kat, I saw you were at the Army-Navy game, and I canโ€™t stop talking about this story because to me it just perfectly blows up the absurdity of left-wing politics. Are you paying attention to the biological man that is going to the University of Pennsylvania and is going to become the greatest womenโ€™s swimmer potentially of all time?

And we just have to pretend that this is normal because the transgender agenda is so incredibly powerful in the left wing that nobody will say, โ€œHey, I donโ€™t know that a biological guy who swam for three years on the Pennโ€™s menโ€™s team is going to be able to now to become the greatest woman swimmer in all time?โ€ It sounds like satire. I think in the early 2000s they made the might have Juwanna Man where this guy pretended that he was a woman and dominated the WNBA, and now itโ€™s real life.

TIMPF: Yeah. Look, and I think the important thing that you brought up there was like the โ€œnobody will say.โ€ Because Iโ€™m pretty liberal on social issues overall, completely liberal, you know, on social issues really and truly. But when it comes to this specific story โ€” and, Clay, I saw on OutKick you interviewed one of the students, one of the members on the swim steam. And what she said is, โ€œWe all kind of feel like this is not fair but nonsense can say that โ€™cause we all want to have a job someday.โ€

CLAY: Yeah.

TIMPF: But whenever weโ€™re around this other swimmer we just say, โ€œOh, great job. Weโ€™re so proud of you! Youโ€™re so awesome,โ€ but itโ€™s all fake. So letโ€™s say that you are an activist on the left for trans acceptance. Thereโ€™s a huge difference between acceptance and fake acceptance. And, if anything, I think that these fake attitudes are people canโ€™t say, โ€œHey, I donโ€™t know about this,โ€ or, โ€œHey, I have a question about this or even just saying, โ€œHey, this is a pretty complicated thing.

Clay and Buckโ€œItโ€™s not as simple as if you say that youโ€™re this that you can compete on these teams,โ€ that could maybe even breed more resentment and make these things even worse. I think that these areโ€ฆ Itโ€™s obviously a super complicated issue. Thatโ€™s something you should be able to say and talk about openly. And that goes with everything, right, it goes with when it comes to stuff with race or gender, anything.

The more that you make people afraid to talkโ€ฆ You want acceptance and you want understanding, thatโ€™s gonna come from talking. So I think itโ€™s really the attitude and the way that theyโ€™re handling it and people not being able to speak I think it makes it worse for everybody no matter what side of the issue that youโ€™re on โ€” if youโ€™re left, right, or somewhere in the middle.

BUCK: Weโ€™re speaking to Kat Timpf. You know her from Gutfeld at night where sheโ€™s a frequent panelist, an dalso, from Sincerely, Kat on Fox Nation over at Fox News Channel. Kat, is the Biden administration way worse than you thought it would be? How do youโ€ฆ? We were just talking about the Kamala, Biden Kremlinology of whoโ€™s actually gonna be running the next time around. What do you see going on right now?

TIMPF: Yeah. I mean, listen. Itโ€™s bad, right? And hereโ€™s the thing. I knew it was gonna be bad, but I remember being in New York โ€” and, Buck, Iโ€™m sure youโ€™ll remember this โ€” when they announced Biden was the winner, the revelry in the street. Like, I saw people dancing in the streets. I had to come to work that day, actually, for something. I had to be at work.

And I remember coming here and there was dancing and I remember seeing there were these two guys who were wearing thongs and they were like snorting drugs off of a key and all of this. Iโ€™m like I live a mile from the office, right? Iโ€™m like all right. Well, these people are really excited. I donโ€™t know if anythingโ€™s ever made meโ€ฆ I actuallyโ€ฆ No. I will say nothing has ever made me that excited where Iโ€™m gonna be half naked in thecold in the street dancing around, okay?

And so they all set the bar really high, right? How do they feel? I mean, if theyโ€™re paying any attention at all, I donโ€™t think itโ€™s that level of excitement or maybe the excitement just came from whatever drugs at least those two were snorting. But everyone else didnโ€™t appear to beโ€ฆ They really thought, โ€œEverythingโ€™s gonna be great now,โ€ and, you know, obviously everythingโ€™s worse. (laughing)

CLAY: Kat, when I saw thatโ€ฆ (laughing) This may be a sign much just how low my expectations are for New York City right now.

TIMPF: (laughing)

CLAY: But when I saw that the Fox Christmas tree got burned down, my first thought wasnโ€™t like, โ€œOh, my God. I canโ€™t believe this happened.โ€ It was like, โ€œIโ€™m kind of surprised this hasnโ€™t happened before.โ€

TIMPF: (laughing)

CLAY: โ€œOf course they would burn down the Fox Christmas tree!โ€ What was your first thought when you heard that the Fox Christmas tree in New York City got burned down?

TIMPF: Yeah, I hate to say it, but mine was kind of the same as yours. Iโ€™m kind of like, โ€œOh, yeah, of course.โ€ Itโ€™s one of these things, you walk in and thereโ€™s little mini protests outside the building where itโ€™s like seven people with signs.

CLAY: By the way, it reminds me of The Succession line, Kat. Do you remember when there were like, โ€œThe fewer the protesters are the more awkward it is?โ€

TIMPF: Yeah.

CLAY: Because if thereโ€™s thousands of protestersโ€ฆ But when thereโ€™s like five and you make eye contact with them and youโ€™re like, โ€œYeah, sorry, I gotta go.โ€ Itโ€™s kind of funny, right, when you leave the Fox News studio and thereโ€™s like four people there protesting. Itโ€™s kinda awkward.

BUCK: You can bring them like a hot cocoa or something.

CLAY: Yeah, โ€œHow are you today?โ€ You can talk to โ€™em, shake their hand individually but yeah. Sorry to cut you off, but it is funny the divide there.

TIMPF: Right. Itโ€™s like the group is so small but their signs are that weโ€™re ruining the entire world and this and that. Honestly, weโ€™re all human beings and I make mistakes. I can be a jerk sometimes. I donโ€™t think Iโ€™m ruining the world. I think thatโ€ฆ I can be hard on myself but I donโ€™t think Iโ€™d ever go that hard on myself.

BUCK: Kat Timpf, everybody, check her out over at Fox Nation with Sincerely, Kat and look for her on Gutfeld on Fox News Monday through Friday. Kat, thanks so much. Great to have you.

TIMPF: Of course. Anytime.
