C&B Chat with Kat Timpf of Sincerely, Kat
16 Dec 2021
BUCK: We have our friend Kat Timpf with us now from Fox News. You all know Kat from her Fox Nation show โ Sincerely, Kat โ and sheโs also a frequent guest panelist on the Gutfeld smash hit late-night TV show over at Fox. Kat, great to have you.
TIMPF: Hey, great to be here.
BUCK: So are you noticing that there is both an increase โ โcause youโre here in New York City with me, Clayโs out in Nashville so heโs all, โOh, I have the freedom and the Constitution,โ and Iโm walking around here โ
TIMPF: I know.
BUCK: โ feeling as though Iโm hearing, the Soviet national anthem playing from all the loudspeakers. But Iโm starting to see people just be like, โYou know what? Iโm not.โ Iโm walking into places that require masks and people just arenโt wearing masks. Do you think that even New Yorkers are starting to have had enough of the madness?
TIMPF: You know what? I think everyoneโs had enough of the madness. It just depends on whether or not they feel comfortable admitting that or if theyโre worried about their social standing if their friends are liberal, because think about it. People are moving to Nashville, people are moving to Texas, people are moving to Florida. If people were really concerned that everyone whoโs not wearing a mask is a murderer or whatever, people would be fleeing to New York and fleeing to Los Angeles because they would be so scared they were gonna die in Florida or Texas or Tennessee. Weโre not really seeing that.
BUCK: Youโve actually seen, Kat, a new study that thereโs a 38% decrease โ year over year 2021 to 2020 โ of people moving to California.
TIMPF: Right. If everybody really believed in the stuff and it was as widespread and popular as people thought, then that wouldnโt be the case. People would be too terrified to live in a place where people are normal and sane because theyโd been so scared theyโre gonna die. Iโve had it. Iโve really had it. I justโฆ You think things will get better and they get worse. I still havenโt gone on the honeymoon yet. โOh, weโre gonna go next week when things are open and go to a foreign country, and not worry,โ and now itโs like weโll go to Poughkeepsie or something. You canโt plan anything.
BUCK: No offense to our robust Poughkeepsie audience, by the way.
TIMPF: Not to offend you guys but I guess Iโll see you guys there.
CLAY: You watch her on Gutfeld pretty much every night. Kat, I saw you were at the Army-Navy game, and I canโt stop talking about this story because to me it just perfectly blows up the absurdity of left-wing politics. Are you paying attention to the biological man that is going to the University of Pennsylvania and is going to become the greatest womenโs swimmer potentially of all time?
And we just have to pretend that this is normal because the transgender agenda is so incredibly powerful in the left wing that nobody will say, โHey, I donโt know that a biological guy who swam for three years on the Pennโs menโs team is going to be able to now to become the greatest woman swimmer in all time?โ It sounds like satire. I think in the early 2000s they made the might have Juwanna Man where this guy pretended that he was a woman and dominated the WNBA, and now itโs real life.
TIMPF: Yeah. Look, and I think the important thing that you brought up there was like the โnobody will say.โ Because Iโm pretty liberal on social issues overall, completely liberal, you know, on social issues really and truly. But when it comes to this specific story โ and, Clay, I saw on OutKick you interviewed one of the students, one of the members on the swim steam. And what she said is, โWe all kind of feel like this is not fair but nonsense can say that โcause we all want to have a job someday.โ
CLAY: Yeah.
TIMPF: But whenever weโre around this other swimmer we just say, โOh, great job. Weโre so proud of you! Youโre so awesome,โ but itโs all fake. So letโs say that you are an activist on the left for trans acceptance. Thereโs a huge difference between acceptance and fake acceptance. And, if anything, I think that these fake attitudes are people canโt say, โHey, I donโt know about this,โ or, โHey, I have a question about this or even just saying, โHey, this is a pretty complicated thing.
โItโs not as simple as if you say that youโre this that you can compete on these teams,โ that could maybe even breed more resentment and make these things even worse. I think that these areโฆ Itโs obviously a super complicated issue. Thatโs something you should be able to say and talk about openly. And that goes with everything, right, it goes with when it comes to stuff with race or gender, anything.
The more that you make people afraid to talkโฆ You want acceptance and you want understanding, thatโs gonna come from talking. So I think itโs really the attitude and the way that theyโre handling it and people not being able to speak I think it makes it worse for everybody no matter what side of the issue that youโre on โ if youโre left, right, or somewhere in the middle.
BUCK: Weโre speaking to Kat Timpf. You know her from Gutfeld at night where sheโs a frequent panelist, an dalso, from Sincerely, Kat on Fox Nation over at Fox News Channel. Kat, is the Biden administration way worse than you thought it would be? How do youโฆ? We were just talking about the Kamala, Biden Kremlinology of whoโs actually gonna be running the next time around. What do you see going on right now?
TIMPF: Yeah. I mean, listen. Itโs bad, right? And hereโs the thing. I knew it was gonna be bad, but I remember being in New York โ and, Buck, Iโm sure youโll remember this โ when they announced Biden was the winner, the revelry in the street. Like, I saw people dancing in the streets. I had to come to work that day, actually, for something. I had to be at work.
And I remember coming here and there was dancing and I remember seeing there were these two guys who were wearing thongs and they were like snorting drugs off of a key and all of this. Iโm like I live a mile from the office, right? Iโm like all right. Well, these people are really excited. I donโt know if anythingโs ever made meโฆ I actuallyโฆ No. I will say nothing has ever made me that excited where Iโm gonna be half naked in thecold in the street dancing around, okay?
And so they all set the bar really high, right? How do they feel? I mean, if theyโre paying any attention at all, I donโt think itโs that level of excitement or maybe the excitement just came from whatever drugs at least those two were snorting. But everyone else didnโt appear to beโฆ They really thought, โEverythingโs gonna be great now,โ and, you know, obviously everythingโs worse. (laughing)
CLAY: Kat, when I saw thatโฆ (laughing) This may be a sign much just how low my expectations are for New York City right now.
TIMPF: (laughing)
CLAY: But when I saw that the Fox Christmas tree got burned down, my first thought wasnโt like, โOh, my God. I canโt believe this happened.โ It was like, โIโm kind of surprised this hasnโt happened before.โ
TIMPF: (laughing)
CLAY: โOf course they would burn down the Fox Christmas tree!โ What was your first thought when you heard that the Fox Christmas tree in New York City got burned down?
TIMPF: Yeah, I hate to say it, but mine was kind of the same as yours. Iโm kind of like, โOh, yeah, of course.โ Itโs one of these things, you walk in and thereโs little mini protests outside the building where itโs like seven people with signs.

CLAY: By the way, it reminds me of The Succession line, Kat. Do you remember when there were like, โThe fewer the protesters are the more awkward it is?โ
TIMPF: Yeah.
CLAY: Because if thereโs thousands of protestersโฆ But when thereโs like five and you make eye contact with them and youโre like, โYeah, sorry, I gotta go.โ Itโs kind of funny, right, when you leave the Fox News studio and thereโs like four people there protesting. Itโs kinda awkward.
BUCK: You can bring them like a hot cocoa or something.
CLAY: Yeah, โHow are you today?โ You can talk to โem, shake their hand individually but yeah. Sorry to cut you off, but it is funny the divide there.
TIMPF: Right. Itโs like the group is so small but their signs are that weโre ruining the entire world and this and that. Honestly, weโre all human beings and I make mistakes. I can be a jerk sometimes. I donโt think Iโm ruining the world. I think thatโฆ I can be hard on myself but I donโt think Iโd ever go that hard on myself.
BUCK: Kat Timpf, everybody, check her out over at Fox Nation with Sincerely, Kat and look for her on Gutfeld on Fox News Monday through Friday. Kat, thanks so much. Great to have you.
TIMPF: Of course. Anytime.
