BUCK: Breaking news friends. Breaking news all across the country. Today, April 6, is Mr. Clay Travis’ birthday, 43 years young. Doesn’t look a day over 40. And well done, sir.
CLAY: Day over 60, maybe.
BUCK: We have to tell everybody it’s Clay’s birthday which we’re excited about, obviously. Happy birthday, Mr. Clay, great co-host, you know, husband, dad, friend, all the above. But, you know, we have a little bit of educating to do for you today, because you may recall we had an exchange, an exchange back in January where you were just flabbergasted at the notion of anyone purchasing — of a guy, in this case me, purchasing — a scented candle. Let’s just remind everybody how it went.
BEGIN ARCHIVE CLIP
CLAY: I want to start with this, Buck. Do you purchase good-smelling candles for your bachelor pad place in New York City? Have you? I’ve never purchased a candle in my life. So, I’m curious, do you purchase good-smelling candles for your apartment? Have you ever done that?
CLAY: I’ve been married 17 years. I have never purchased a candle. What’s more I have really bad smell anyway; so I think all of the candles would smell the same. To me, like all these different candle scents — primarily directed for women.

BUCK: All right. So we did a little research on this one. We want to expand your olfactory palate a little bit here. Is that the right term, right smell here? Good work. So, we got you —
CLAY: Dub is in here. Is this why you actually are here today? This is the real reason.
BUCK: — We got you a whole bunch of Dude Candles. That’s actually the name of the company. Sawdust, Motor Oil, Pilsner Beer, Off Road Dirt —
CLAY: I’m looking at these things right now.
BUCK: — Pipe Tobacco, Aged Bourbon, which I think is gonna be your favorite, and others. So, Clay, happy birthday. We got you some Dude Candle scents so you can now experience all that good smelling, fantastic stuff.
CLAY: Man, I don’t know what Dude Candle is getting for this, but these are pretty interesting flavors — or scents, I guess —
BUCK: No, don’t eat them.
CLAY: — as opposed to flavors, probably not supposed to eat it, but I am going through the bag right now. And you just ran through a bunch of them. This is awesome. Thank you, guys. Forty-three was celebrated a little bit last night with the boys, meaning my boys, not guys my age. We had Chick-fil-A, which is probably my favorite place to eat, and birthday cake.
BUCK: What’s the go-to Chick-fil-A order? Like it’s birthday Chick-fil-A day, what do you get?
CLAY: I go standard, the main Chick-fil-A sandwich with the solid pickles. No need to razzle-dazzle. Now, may go with the red — the larger size fry, the waffle fries there pretty outstanding at Chick-fil-A. And a solid Mountain Dew or maybe a lemonade, sometimes.
BUCK: That’s really exciting. I get the grilled nuggets and the fries, ’cause, you know —
CLAY: Grilled nuggets? Oh, yeah, that’s super healthy.
BUCK: Yeah, I know, it is, but it’s still good. Still good.
CLAY: Chick-fil-A, greatest place ever.
BUCK: Happy birthday, big guy.
