Is the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard Trial the End of #MeToo?
23 May 2022
BUCK: I make it a point to not care about celebrity culture. I don’t pay attention to this stuff as much as I can possibly avoid it. This Amber Heard, Johnny Depp trial is taking up a lot of oxygen in the news cycle still. How is this possible?
CLAY: Way more people, according to data, care about the Johnny Depp, Amber Heard trial than anything about abortion, than anything about Ukraine. You cannot escape how incredibly overwhelming this has become to such an extent that I talked to our OutKick crew, and I was like, “Man, we’ve kind of blown this. We should be covering this trial more significantly.” I think Johnny Depp’s on the stand right now.
It continues to roll, and it could represent — from a larger perspective — maybe the end of #MeToo ’cause it seems like nobody suddenly believes Amber Heard at all.
