CLAY: Joined now by Colorado Senate candidate Joe O’Dea, who is trying to knock another Democrat out of the Senate. Colorado is one of the states where Republicans are surging. And, Joe, we wanted to give you an opportunity to come on and make the case. We’ve got the number one show in the Denver area. Wanted to let you tell everybody about where this race is, what you need to do to get over the finish line as a winner here.
O’DEA: Clay and Buck, thanks for having me on today. Man, this race is close. We’re within the margins right now where we’re going to need to count every vote, though. I’m on the road. We’re out now on most of the day talking to the good voters out there, getting them motivated. We’re just in Monte Vista headed to Durango tonight and make sure we get across the entire state. It’s going to be close. I’m not going to lie to you. But, Bennet’s got to go. He votes with Biden 98% of the time.
On record inflation Bennet’s with Biden and on record crime Bennet’s with Biden. On record fuel prices Bennet is with Biden. On a weak border – I was just down there last week – that’s a travesty down there. I got to tell you, it’s a humanitarian crisis, not to mention the drugs coming across. But Bennet, he votes with Biden all the time. And that’s the problem. Colorado deserves better. I hope voters do give me a chance this year to go to the Senate and represent working Americans. That’s why I got in this race.
O’DEA: Well, I got to tell you, I was just down at the border here last week, and that is an epic failure by Biden and Bennet. That’s unbelievable. Yeah, the sheriffs down there are exhausted. They’re working their tails off, trying to keep up with the flow of fentanyl coming up. So, the first thing I’m going to do is roll out a bill that will finish the wall, give the Dreamers their citizenship, and start to revamp our immigration system. And let’s bring that to some attention to the rest of the country, because what we got going on down there now is a humanitarian crisis of epic proportions, and we can do better. United States deserves better. The migrants deserve better. And Bennet and Biden, they’ve just forgotten about it. They’re out of touch. Everything he does is just a rubber stamp for his party. He doesn’t care about Colorado. And that’s why I got in this race.
CLAY: Joe, are you surprised how awful of a President Joe Biden has been? Because Buck and I talk about it, we didn’t expect it to go well, but I can’t even point to anything that he’s touched that he hasn’t made worse. And to what extent? Look, Colorado was a purple state for a long time. To what extent is your race really a referendum on the first two years of Joe Biden?
O’DEA: Oh, it’s exactly that when you look at the war on energy that he started, that it just gutted the oil and gas businesses here in Colorado. We’ve got… it’s crushing our agriculture as well with $5 diesel. I thought at first, you know, maybe his policies were accidental, but this is intentional. He is intentionally trying to ruin our country. And that’s why I had to jump in. We can’t have a rubber stamp in the U.S. Senate for Joe Biden. And that’s what we’ve got right now in Michael Bennet. We lost base command here in Colorado because Michael Bennet sat on his hands. We’ve lost the BLM headquarters to Washington. It’s moving back now because Michael Bennet has just sat on his hands. This economy, it couldn’t be worse. We’re getting ready… we’re into a recession right now and this is all on the back of a lame president with a rubber stamp, Michael Bennet.
BUCK: Joe, where should folks go in order to support you in these final few days here? And also, I just wanted to give you the chance again with a microphone that stretches across the country but is particularly powerful in your home state of Colorado, as Clay mentioned, we’re number one in Denver and that Denver market stretches out into a big chunk of the state. You can win. Why? Tell us why.
CLAY: Joe, we appreciate you making the closing case for us here. Eight days out. We’re all behind you, certainly. And we appreciate everybody who’s listening in Colorado right now that we know is going to be out as a part of the large army fighting to take back this country. Thanks for the time.
O’DEA: Appreciate it. Thanks for being on here. Love your show.
CLAY: Thanks.
BUCK: That’s a great American with great taste in radio.
CLAY: No doubt.
