On Friday, Clay & Buck broke down the story of the five black Memphis police officers charged with murdering Tyre Nichols and took calls from listeners on the ground. The story continued to evolve, with the final news being fresh scrutiny of the Memphis Police Department’s anti-violence unit launched last year.
It’s called SCORPION: Street Crimes Operation to Restore Peace in Our Neighborhoods. Officers from the unit were were among those who allegedly beat Nichols to death after a traffic stop on January 7th.
