You’ve probably seen the energy issue out there, or heard callers raising it with Clay and Buck on the show, but it should be getting a lot more attention. Gavin Newsom — the Democrat governor of California whose in-laws were just revealed as having donated to Republican Ron DeSantis of Florida — made a big deal about banning gas-powered cars in favor of electric ones just last week, and now — because they don’t have the supply of power — he’s telling people not to charge those EVs!
Here’s what’s happening out on the Left Coast:
● Newsweek: Californians Told Not to Charge Electric Cars Days After Gas Car Sales Ban
● SacBee: California Officials to Demand Conservation as Extreme Heat Wave Approaches
● SFC: Get Ready for Blackouts This Summer As ‘Unprecedented’ Strain Could Affect California’s Power Grid.”
Oh, but don’t worry. If you’re an electric vehicle driver, I’m sure they’ve got a schedule for you to charge up for eight hours a night. It’s all gonna be fine! It’s all gonna be fine.
It was left to Elon Musk, who runs the biggest and most successful electric car company in the world, to be a voice of reality. He pointed out that without oil and gas right now, civilization comes to a halt.
That is 100% true.
