Democrats Try to Blame Trump, DeSantis for School Shutdowns

Lies are being spread at epic rates from this White House, so it can be hard for you to keep up while living your life — which is why we’re here. Clay and Buck started Thursday’s show talking about the fact that schools being closed was indefensible.

Most Americans agree with that, because they’ve followed the science, and they know that — thankfully — kids were at statistically 0% risk of death from the disease, especially healthy ones.

Well, Karine Jean-Pierre decided to move the goalposts on this one, and shoveled out the lie that the reason why schools were closed in America was because of — you guessed it — Donald Trump.

The White House is hoping you’ll forget this July 2020 ad from the Democratic National Committee.

Oops! Anyone paying attention knows that President Trump was a zealous advocate to get back to normal and open up schools, but Democrats called him a murderer for it.

It was Randi Weingarten, honcho of the teachers unions, and everybody else in the Democrat Party that was trying to hang covid on Trump, who wanted abnormality. They wanted schools to be closed because they thought it helped them politically. Make no mistake about how duplicitous they are.

They also wanted to hang this on the wildly successful governor of Florida, Republican Ron DeSantis. Remember they tried to make the hashtag #DeathSantis a thing and get it trending?

Well, DeSantis put together criticisms that he got for opening schools now that Democrats are trying to say Republicans are responsible for why schools weren’t open.

The governor knows, as we’ve said on this show, that covid overreactions were the biggest public policy failure since the decision to go to war in Vietnam. You’re gonna love it. Ron DeSantis and his team going to war with the lies that are being spread by schools reopening and who was responsible.

Remember, Gavin Newsom — the Democrat governor of California who failed miserably on covid — got slapped in the face by his mother- and father-in-law, who not only donated $5,000 to Ron DeSantis, they voted with their feet as so many millions did.

Yup. The Newsom in-laws moved from California to Florida during covid because they were furious over what their son-in-law’s policies were doing to the state. Time for some pushback.

These are all the people screaming, “You can’t open up schools!”

Meanwhile, Florida did it — a lot of our red states did it — and these receipts matter. Democrats were wrong on schools, and they’re now just going to pretend that they never said what we all know they said. They’re going to pretend that they were not the reason, that for some kids, years of schooling was lost.

Heck, we’ve still got kids in many parts of the country having to wear masks to school. You can’t even go into New York City schools unless you’ve had the covid shot, if you are a parent, and you want to go watch your kid play a sporting event or go to an extracurricular activity.

This is madness. Democrats have to wear it. They have to be held responsible in November for what they did to our kids.
