After committing unforgivable political malpractice by refusing to back GOP Senate candidates who could have won, particularly in Arizona and Alaska, Mitch McConnell said he has the votes to remain GOP leader in the Senate. All we hear from our base is how annoyed they are with him and he’s got the votes?
And he was right.
This is incredibly frustrating to all of us, but it’s the way Washington works and that doesn’t look like it’s going to change any time soon. If you’re looking to blame somebody for this midterm performance, he’s the guy.
Mitch McConnell had one job — and he didn’t get it done.
